Managing Confined Spaces Courses

Managing Confined Spaces Training course - 1 Day

Who For?
Designed for personnel who have been selected or require additional training to be able to manage the entry/task or to become the site supervisors (Appointed/Authorised Persons).

Please Note - the Managing Confined Spaces Course is NOT suitable for any persons who MAY HAVE to enter a confined space; if this is the case a Confined Space ENTRY Course is also required. The Entry Course and the Managing Confined Spaces Course will be run on consecutive days to allow both courses to be taken together if required.

Course Objective
Provides candidates with:

• An understanding of Confined Space legislation

• Recognition a confined space and classification

• Understanding of the hazards associated with confined spaces

• Awareness of Health & Hygiene aspects of the confined space environment

• An understanding of the personalities and their duties regarding confined spaces procedures (SRP 06)

• Risk Assessment

• Permits to Work

• Safe Systems of Work

Duration - 1 day

Certification
All persons who successfully complete the course will receive a SOTAT certificate for Managing Confined Spaces Course Attendance and a site card, valid for three years.

Confined Space Supervisor Courses

City & Guilds 5831-76 972 Unit Certificate in Confined Space Supervisor Course - 3 Days

Who For?
Designed for personnel who have been selected or require additional training to be able to manage the entry/task or to become the site supervisors (Appointed/Authorised Persons).

Please Note - the Confined Space Supervisor Course is NOT suitable for any persons who MAY HAVE to enter a confined space; if this is the case a Confined Space ENTRY Course is also required. The Entry Course and the Confined Space Supervisor Course will be run on consecutive days to allow both courses to be taken together if required.

Course Objectives

• Understand the legislation applying to Confined Spaces working

• Applying the Water UK Confined Spaces Policy for Work at Confined Spaces

• Undertaking risk assessments of Confined Spaces Working

• Working with Permits to Work

• Developing safe systems of work and safe methods of work at Confined Spaces

• Selecting, installing and maintaining control measures including hygiene procedures

• Understanding the mechanism of atmosphere testing and monitoring

• Developing, installing and maintaining emergency plans and procedures

• Maintaining records and documents for Confined Spaces working

Duration - 3 days

Certification
All persons who successfully complete the course and written assessments will receive a City & Guilds 5831-76 Unit 972 Confined Space Supervisor Certificate and a site card, valid for three years.
